You can track progress and schedule sessions. It also offers in-depth courses collections for moms, veterans, and first responders.
Breethe is one of the great and best meditation apps. This app costs ($8.99)£6.99/Month. I liked the design of Breethe but I found a little difficult to search through tracks. It includes hundreds of meditations led by founder Lynne and an excellent progress tracker.
I liked the themed weeks that offer 7 meditations to be done over 7 days around anxiety, happiness and a host of other options. Meditation in motion is a section with practical tips and things you can do to bring meditation into your daily life.
Insight Timer comes under completely free and best meditation apps with over 7,000 guided meditations by over 1,500 teachers. The usability of this app is great and it has another cool feature such as support groups and communities.
It includes a tracking option that enables you to monitor your progress towards your meditations goals. Tracks are reviewed to help you choose the one you want and the search functionality is great.
You can choose a male or female voice, set the background music, and filter out religious or spiritual content if you want to.
I’ve been using Stop, Breathe & Think for years. It’s a great meditation app with a lovely design. The free version has about 20 tracks, while the premium version which costs ($12.84) £9.99 has 100.
I like the meditation counter that tracks your progress. But I don’t really use the ‘Check in with your Feeling’ section. The meditations are short enough that you can fit them into your day, although there are options for longer ones. Up to 20-25 minutes.
The Mindfulness App costs($4.5) £3.50 a month or lets you buy individuals tracks, but also offer a free version. You can track your progress and set reminders for yourself.
The app picked up that I have an apple watch and offered to measure my heart rate before and after meditation, but I couldn’t get it to work, unfortunately. This app offers lots of courses, like meditation for optimal health.
You can also set the background music to your tracks and favorites to your library.
Headspace is a beautifully designed app that cost ($12.4) £9.99 a month (Although it does have a free version). It offers hundreds of tracks categorized into packs around similar themes.
You can set reminders and track your progress via stats. It has great videos showing how the app works and I really like the cancer series for people who have a deal of that.
I also really liked the single meditations on phobias, travel, panicking and walking.
Buddhify is designed for people who have always been interested in meditation but haven’t been able to fit it into their lives. This app costs ($6.4) £4.99 a month, and you don’t need to sign for an account.
I found these meditations more like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) but they were still interesting and I like the design.
8. Smiling Mind
Smiling Mind is another free and best meditation apps that lets you check in how you’re feeling before and after your meditation. Meditations are broken into programs that help you deal with life’s challenges.
There’s a good digital detox section that I really liked.
10% Happier is another best meditation apps with a free version. The premium version is ($94.13) £74 per year. It is based on the principle that happiness is a skill that you need to train. It’s very American and has a helpful intro video by the founder.
The tracks are different – you have your standard meditations on anxiety, gratitude, and sleep. And then there are others like an anti-consumerism reflection, one of Facebook intoxication, meditation for pessimists and loving kindness for A-holes.
Mindfulness has a free version and a premium version for ($4.50) £3.50 a month. It offers reminders and stats to motivate you and the option of connecting with colleagues and making it an organization-wide thing, which I quite liked.
It also includes a number of affirmations, which most of the other apps didn’t have.
Omvana tracks are broken down into beginner and expert. I like this app. It’s run by an education company that designs tools to help people lead epic lives.
There are a number of tracks for free and others to buy. There is also a 6-phase meditation based on scientific studies for intermediate meditators.
According to the founder, this went viral when launched and is now used by 50,000 people daily.
Simple habit Meditation app costs ($10) £7.83 per month. Although there is a free option with more limited features. The premium version contains over 1,000 meditations and you can motivate yourself with daily reminders and track your progress.
Well done for making time for yourself to meditate. If you make meditation a regular habit, you will be healthier and happier.
